Music video: Recurring- Ellie Bunce lots of camera effects, something do do while shooting, not in edit. As a video it is very interpretive. the story that is  shown could be story of the life of the person, for example the earthy start to the video suggests the start of life. the story progresses as we see a pile of books, this suggest the early life and education that the pro former had. The constant reminder of a girl being lost in the woods suggest the person being lost in life and unknown as to where to go next.  Finally, the person looks back at memories, and looks down the tunnel this is known as a metaphor for the cycle of life. This music video was released in 2004, in his "boy in da corner" album. This album was first released on 21 July 2003 by XL Recordings in the United Kingdom before being released the following year in the United States. A widespread critical success, Boy in da Corner became one of the most acclaimed records of 2003 and went on to win the Mercury Prize for best album from the UK and Ireland. It also peaked at number 23 on the British albums chart and sold over 250,000 copies worldwide by 2004. The song writer was D.Mills], and the music video was directed by Dougal Wilson, he is known for his adverts for IKEA, Lurpak, Heinz and perhaps most famously John Lewis, Dougal started out by creating playful, humorous music videos. His videos for big names including Jarvis Cocker, Bat for Lashes, Basement Jaxx and Dizzee Rascal are what got him noticed by the ad agencies. What does it mean to be a fan? abbreviated form of the word ‘fanatic’ it has roots in the Latin word ‘fanaticus’ ‘fanaticus’ meant ‘a temple servant, a devotee’ Henry Jenkins says that ‘the relationship between readers and writers [is] an ongoing struggle for possession of the text and for control over its meanings’. Jenkins also says that the are stereotypical fans the characteristics include:  that the fans are brainless consumers they devote their lives to worthless knowledge they place inappropriate importance on cultural material they are social misfits, emotionally immature they are unable to separate fantasy from reality Jenkins says that there are 5 levels of activity for a fan, these levels include: Number 1, a particular mode of reception:this means that fans watch with a mixture of ‘emotional proximity and critical distance'. this advert suggests: Black person, suggests that the person could be from Africa as the background is Barron, also an image of a Black African has the connotation of a poor and unfortunate, this is the opposite to the normal LouBoutin customers.      The Anti-capitalist view is shown through the inequality between the rich white shoes that LouBoutin normally sells shoes to, and the poor African who is wearing plastic bottles on their feet for protection. "Red soles are always in season" suggests that a persons feet in a poorer nation are always bleeding or blistered due to the lack of footwear, the red soles are associated with the LouBoutin range, it is almost a trade mark.  The use of the actual name of the product gives the advert a realistic and well known feel. Normal LouBoutin shoes cost around £400, the contrast is shown with the worthless plastic shoes. The audience is made to feel guilt and embarrassed.
