  • lots of camera effects, something do do while shooting, not in edit. As a video it is very interpretive.
  • the story that is  shown could be story of the life of the person, for example the earthy start to the video suggests the start of life.
  • the story progresses as we see a pile of books, this suggest the early life and education that the pro former had. The constant reminder of a girl being lost in the woods suggest the person being lost in life and unknown as to where to go next. 
  • Finally, the person looks back at memories, and looks down the tunnel this is known as a metaphor for the cycle of life. Overall, the music video resembles the cycle of life and somebodies journey through life.

  • The story that is betrayed is based around the key, the key represents greed and violence. 
  • The key shows how people are influenced by power as the key has a very deep meaning, there is representation as the hoodies put fear into you, however the video shows that not everything is hoe it seems, as the 1 guy beat up around 20 people, but then the female comes out on top.  
No more tears left to cry- Adriana Grande

  • in this music video the camera is constantly moving, this reflects the attempt for the signer to be upbeat feeling towards the song.
Happier- Ed Sheeran

  • The lyrics link very clearly through the music video, there are times were it is very relateable. 
  • The use of the puppet is Ed Sheeran's style as he had used it in 'sing', the puppet shows how Ed never takes himself too seriously. The situation that is shown in the video is a story that not just Ed will go through so the dehumanization of the puppet helps watchers relate.

LouBoutin advert- ADBUSTERS

this advert suggests: Black person, suggests that the person could be from Africa as the background is Barron, also an image of a Black African has the connotation of a poor and unfortunate, this is the opposite to the normal LouBoutin customers.      The Anti-capitalist view is shown through the inequality between the rich white shoes that LouBoutin normally sells shoes to, and the poor African who is wearing plastic bottles on their feet for protection. "Red soles are always in season" suggests that a persons feet in a poorer nation are always bleeding or blistered due to the lack of footwear, the red soles are associated with the LouBoutin range, it is almost a trade mark.  The use of the actual name of the product gives the advert a realistic and well known feel. Normal LouBoutin shoes cost around £400, the contrast is shown with the worthless plastic shoes. The audience is made to feel guilt and embarrassed.

Even though they are 50 years different in age, the core elements of the adverts show a gender focus element. Leibniz van Zoonen says that while adverts do portray women in a sexualised manner, often nude or with a limited amount of clothing on, the images are presented for the ‘male gaze’, while men are shown as a spectacle.
