Website Case Study

Image
I will be completing a Website for my task 2. I will be using the website creator Wix as my start point for my website. The Website for slowplay will of been inspired by many case studies, this includes Post Malone's. He is an American rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. He uses a collection of large background images on his website. As shown below: The website is simple and has a limited amount of clutter on the home page, it includes links to his latest album. This i believe is a great format for a home page, this is because it is not hard to process as an audience, also it is a nice format to look at as it is simple and appealing.   Moreover, the menu on the Chainsomkers website is very clean, this is shown below, I will try and mimic this on my own website. There is easy access to the various social media platforms that the band offers, such as Twitter and Itunes.  I will try and make my website as interactive as possible, this will in gauge the a

Media language- Editing

In my music video, I want to convey various emotions and thoughts through my editing style. I will do this through several techniques: firstly, the speed of the shots, transitions and the camera movement. If i aim to convey a downbeat mood/tone then the speed of camera movement will slow down, as this takes away the thought that the main character is upbeat, this change in speed will have to match the beat of the song, otherwise the desynchronized camera movement and speed will look strange for the viewer. Moreover, the common mistake that A level students regularly make is using the camera to zoom mid shot, this doesn't only lower the quality, but it seems unnatural and can destroy a mood that is being encoded for the audience. Zoom is used very little in professional music videos and films, this is because it lowers the overall quality of the product, as it is seen as a poor technique, because of this a director will use a track or a pan to replicate the same effect without low

Story Board

Image
' Story board The story board that I have created below, aims to show a detailed story into my main persons life over the time period in the music video. I have added a short description next to each picture, the description details, in short, what each image is representing. In my project I will try and include all of the elements that i have depicted below.

Media Language- Camera Movement

Media Studies: Ideas for music video  Camera movement: • Tracking- need to use, as a modern music video should never stop moving. • Slow push in, slow track/zoom in to the main character, this helps see thoughts and emotions, and can also show that there is more there is something special going on with a group of people. • Creep out, aims to show us leaving the character, and can show despair. • Wondering camera, were the camera starts on the main man but then moves away to take in a scene. Causes us to interpret the surroundings in our own way. • Start in a rough area as a teen, then move on with a achievements and go on trips look satisfied, then at end go back to the rough area(same shot as of start) but with a smile.

Music video: Recurring- Ellie Bunce lots of camera effects, something do do while shooting, not in edit. As a video it is very interpretive. the story that is  shown could be story of the life of the person, for example the earthy start to the video suggests the start of life. the story progresses as we see a pile of books, this suggest the early life and education that the pro former had. The constant reminder of a girl being lost in the woods suggest the person being lost in life and unknown as to where to go next.  Finally, the person looks back at memories, and looks down the tunnel this is known as a metaphor for the cycle of life. Overall, the music video resembles the cycle of life and somebodies journey through life.    Say Amen Saturday night-Panic at the disco   The story that is betrayed is based around the key, the key represents greed and violence.  The key shows how people are influenced by power as the key has a very deep meaning, there is representat
